Nicholas Cafantaros and Charles Thiras, proprietors of the fruit and confectionary store at 42 Main St., were fined $100 each in Andover police court Monday morning before Judge Stone on charges of illegally keeping intoxicating liquors with intent to sell. In a raid conducted at their place of business by the police Saturday afternoon, three quarts of âmoonshine,â a gallon of hard cider, and fifty or sixty bottles of Jamaica ginger were seized. The raiding officers were Chief Smith, Napier, Walker and Mayo.

FORT WAYNE â RE/MAX Resultsâ Angola office was recently recognized as the top RE/MAX office in Indiana for a single office in a small market for closed sales and transactions.
The Angola office received the designation during a recent awards ceremony, where RE/MAX Results, which has five offices in northern and central Indiana, also honored more than 80 associates for their sales achievements in 2020.
Award winners were recognized at the RE/MAX Results Awards Celebration on Wednesday at the Grand Wayne Center in Fort Wayne.

House Bill 1439 raced through the chamber on Feb. 23, winning approval on an 85-34 vote only a day after it was unveiled.
Authored by House Speaker Philip Gunn and two other top Republicans, the bill is now under consideration in the Senate, where itâs expected to face considerably more opposition. The Senate leader, Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann, says he is highly skeptical of the legislation.
